The Church of Our Lady of Alsemberg, whose first buildings date back to 1241, contains several works of art, including a Romanesque baptismal font from the 12th century.
Since the middle of the 13th century, a Romanesque statue of the Virgin Mary has been venerated in Alsemberg, which is said to have been donated to the parish by Sofia, wife of Duke Henry II of Brabant.
