Vermeulen's mill was built in 1843, replacing a wooden windmill. The mill is located on Vlamertingsestraat in Elverdinge. The building is owned by the Vermeulen/Smagghe family. It is a grain mill, with a very tall structure.
The sails were removed in 1909 and the mill was mechanized. During World War II, the mill's structure was used as an observation post by German soldiers. They built a few layers of bricks on it to have an even better view of the area.
