Avelgem is a former railway station on line 83 in the municipality of Avelgem. Railway line 85 also ran through this station.
The station building, from the standard type of the railway company Braine-le-Comte à Courtrai, was badly damaged in the First World War and was later replaced in 1924 by a larger building, according to plans by architect P. Ongenae. The station square is now an important junction for De Lijn bus traffic. The building itself is used by the municipality as an art academy.
