The Leiken was a dug waterway to enable shipping in Eeklo in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The Leiken connected the center with the Lieve, which later became the Schipdonk Canal.
The Leiken was dug in 1457, but there was probably also a connection with the Lieve before that. Before the Eeklo Canal was dug, this was the waterway of Eeklo. Throughout the existence of the Leiken, the city of Eeklo has had to take many measures to keep it navigable.
