After the early medieval Ename, we now drive a little further back in time in the Rijtmeersen of Welden. Traces from the Neolithic era, about 5,000 years before Christ, were found here.
The Reytmeersen is a patchwork of fallow plots, bushes, willow groves and some grasslands and fields. It is the reign of rabbits, Galloway cattle and Konik horses. The landscape of De Reytmeersen is constantly changing, which is right up the street for numerous plant and animal species.
