The Quanonne castle is one of the most famous buildings in the village. With its well-preserved park at the back, the castle is a defining feature of the center.
Originally, the castle was a gentlemen's farm, built in 1770 by the Peeten family. They were notable individuals and large landowners from Aarschot. In 1850, the farm was converted into a neoclassical manor house, commonly referred to as a "kasteeltje". This was done by Frederik Quanonne, a scion of a prominent French family who married Maria Peeten. It was also this couple that initiated the development of the park. In 1873, the Quanonne-Peeters children moved into the castle, and in 1892, after the death of Gaspard Peeten, the entire estate came to the Quanonne family. In 1930, with the death of Berthe Quanonne, this lineage also came to an end.
