Description

The administrative center of Maarkedal was named after Valerius De Saedeleer. At the inauguration of the new building in 1994, a bronze bust of De Saedeleer was placed in the entrance hall, after a design by sculptor Georges Grard. In the hall on the first floor of the administrative centre hangs the former signboard of Auberge De Vos, the inn where various artists stayed during the interwar period. They found their way to Etikhove through their friend, painter Valerius De Saedeleer.
