Fish passage Loeijens Neetje

Source: Provincie Antwerpen

Description

Free passage is essential for fish to reproduce. In many watercourses there are obstructions in the form of weirs or dams that prevent fish from swimming against the current. Through all kinds of interventions, the province of Antwerp has ensured that the Loeijens Neetje is fully fish-passable again, from the mouth of the Kleine Nete to the upper reaches. Here you can see a side channel that we built to guide the fish around the weir.
