Before the construction of the E19, the GR128 ran from Eppegem (plasstraat) along the Zennemeanders to the Vriezenbroek (following the right bank of all meanders in Eppegem and Weerde).
Then she dived into the Vriezenbroek in Weerde, walked halfway through these pants, crossed the Barebeek in Hofstade, and crossed the Bloso domain over the Middendam. 100% footpath (all atlas roads!), 100% nature, 100% unique, 100% heritage!
Past glory...

After several years of interruption and altatives, it was decided to turn off in Eppegem on the Senne to the Rubens castle (kwasie no meanders were still committed), and via the only pedestrian crossing (ondersteek Steendreef) in the large area on the E19, went towards Elewijt. From there it runs through various residential areas and partly takes footpath 52 here in Elewijt.
A strong decline for this Great Route path 128 with its unique zennemeandering in the middle of nature (the only remaining NATURAL Zennemeanders above Brussels!), the only possible pedestrian passage through residential areas.
Better this than nothing....
