This chapel was built in 1696 under the impulse of vice-pastor Pots. It has been protected as a monument since 1948. In addition to Saint Willibrordus, Saint Mark was also venerated here.
With the help of the Ezaart-Hessie party committee, the municipal administration and the Flemish Government, the chapel was thoroughly restored in 1996. The non-profit association Friends of the St. Willibrord's Chapel and the municipal administration make the chapel with its beautiful acoustics available to the community. Small-scale cultural activities such as exhibitions, concerts and lectures regularly take place.
