Fort Brasschaat was built just before the First World War as part of the Defence Line of Antwerp, a defensive belt. Today, the fort is still a military domain and therefore unfortunately not accessible. The fort is completely abandoned and also home to a large colony of bats. Furthermore, it is located in a wooded area, ideal for taking a nice walk around the abandoned fort.
