Eddy Merck spent his first five years in this house. A bronze statute in honour of his 70th birthday was unveild at the Sint-Mattheskerk Binkomstraat 1, 3391 Meensel-Kiezegem. Luc De Blick from Glabbeek is the statute's artist. He is also the artist that made the 'Kotmadam' on the Oude Markt in Leuven.
