9. Common Hazel - Noisetier (Corylus avellana)

Description

NL : Among the Celts, the hazel symbolized wisdom. It used to be used as coppice. From the severed stews, new shoots shot straight up the following year. These were used as stems for garden tools or firewood. The fruits, the hazelnuts, fall to the ground in the month of September. Who doesn't like praliné or hazelnut spread? Furthermore, quality charcoal and dowsing rods always come from the hazel.
