Remnants of the former station of Ramskapelle and a concrete observation post.
Memorial plaque dedicated to the 14th Belgian Line Regiment, which lost 100 men during the recapture of the village.
During the war, Ramskapelle was located on the Yser front, where the Battle of the Yser was fought in the second half of October 1914.
The advancing Germans attempted to cross the Yser and push further westward. After fierce fighting, the area between the Yser and the railway bed was flooded at the end of October to halt the Germans. On October 30 and 31, 1914, fighting continued in Ramskapelle, and the Belgians and French were able to retake the village from the Germans.
