Connecterra

Connecterra is the main gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park. This special area is located on the former mining site of Eisden on the border with Dilsen-Stokkem. A quarter of a century ago, the mine was still running at full speed, now it is nature through and through. In the coming years, there are big plans for this area, with respect for nature and heritage. The hiking area has been worked out and the routes show you the most beautiful panorama of Flanders in a surprising landscape of mountains and lakes. A total of 5 routes guide you through the area, you can effortlessly combine them with the 'walking switches'. The walking area connects to the walks of 'Mechelse Heide' and 'Station As'. The new visitor reception will open its doors from Sunday 6 April. You can find information about the National Park and relax in the garden room with a drink. Outside, the children can enjoy themselves in the 'Play Pit'. The headstock is accessible up to the first level and already offers a first impression of what Connecterra has to offer.
