The Hérou is a rocky outcrop overlooking a meander of the Ourthe in the Ardennes massif near the village of Nadrin between Houffalize and La Roche-en-Ardenne in the province of Luxembourg. It is included on the list of exceptional heritage of the Walloon Region.
A few kilometers downstream from the confluence of the western and eastern Ourthe which form the Ourthe, this river, coming from the east, comes up against an imposing rock barrier 1,500 m long and about 80 m high. The river can only bypass this natural obstacle from the south forming a tight meander and then turns completely north by sneaking at the western foot of the rock.
