The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerkje in Bevingen is planted on a hill and surrounded by silver birches, beech trees and poplars. Originally small Romanesque parish church built by the lords of Wedergraete in the second half of the 12th century: cross church with flat choir closure and square crossing drills built of iron sandstone, partly of sandstone. In 1265 it was a pilgrimage chapel. Until about 1650 the church retained its original cross shape; Afterwards, the nave, transept and tower were taken down and the choir remained as a small chapel. Enlarged in 1790 with brick beech. In 1932, thorough restoration under the direction of architect A. Bressers including demolition of the nave of 1720 and construction of a longer nave in neo-Romanesque style.
