Round brick mill hull of grist mill so-called "Ooievaarsmolen" built in the early 1840s on the Ooievaar district after the inn of the same name, also on the highest spot of Elst (106 meters). Windmill partly destroyed by fire in 1926, followed in 1927 by removal of the wind pumping station and installation of an engine. Circa 1946 construction of mechanical mill known as De Smet, after the builder of the windmill and after the last operator, also descendant and namesake of the former. Milling plant delivered in 1947. In the 1950s switched from arm gas to diesel engine. Approximately 3 meters of shortened, flat-capped mill pit on the southeastern back corner of the mechanical mill, located on the back yard of the former miller's house (number 7); strongly renovated and on the right shortened 19th-century house of one and a half storeys with retained rectangular door frame of sintered brick. No more interior of the windmill, space switched on at the mechanical mill. Rectangular brick mechanical mill of two storeys with attic floor under low sloping gable roof (corrugated iron). Rectangular wall openings with concrete lintel, still some original horizontal windows with metal rod division. Grinder "Louis Bonte / Ateliers de constructions / Louvain". Cast iron oat letter "Teisset-Rose-Brault Constructors/ Rue du Ranelagh / Roissy-Paris-Chartres". Wooden builder and grain cleaner; elevators. Several younger low extensions, including in fast building block.
