Learn all about the life, devotion, and work of the Beguines. This unique museum is located in the convent where the Beguines lived together for centuries; the last Beguine of Turnhout passed away in 2002. This authentic location, with ten atmospheric rooms, including the historic kitchen and a herb and flower garden, reflects the daily life of the Beguines, with furniture, a charcoal fire to bake hosts, and handicrafts. There are even some Flemish masterpieces to admire, such as a 16th-century Processional (musical piece) and a luxurious and artistically forged salt cellar from the same period.
