Assignment:
We can let the participants solve a simple mathematical riddle:
There are five houses in five different colors in a row. In each house lives a person of a different nationality. The five residents all drink a certain type of drink, smoke a certain brand of cigars, and have a certain pet. None of the residents have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigars, or drink the same.
Each house has a different color/pattern. Ed, Nick, Nicola, David, and Nigel each live in one of the houses.
- Nicola lives in the house with the checkered facade
- Ed has a guinea pig
- David drinks mochaccino
- The house with the flowered facade is to the left of the house with the dotted facade
- The owner of the house with the flowered facade drinks coffee wrong
- The person who travels by car has a squirrel
- The owner of the house with the striped facade travels by bicycle
- The owner of the middle house drinks double espresso
- Nick lives in the first house
- The person who travels by train lives next to the person who has a pit bull
- The person who has an otter lives next to the person who travels by bicycle
- The person who travels by plane drinks chai latte
- Nigel travels on foot
- Nick lives next to the house with the dotted facade

History:
Albert Einstein lived in De Haan for several months in 1933. After a stay as a visiting professor in the United States, he arrived in the Antwerp harbor on his return trip to Germany in March 1933. Because Adolf Hitler was elected in Germany in that same month, the Einstein couple decided not to return and moved to De Haan, where they lived in the left section of the semi-detached villa 'Savoyarde' on Shakespeare Avenue. Later, his stepdaughter Margot, his assistant Walther Mayer, and his secretary Helen Dukas also came to live with them. Eventually, it became too dangerous for Einstein in Belgium as well, and on September 9, 1933, he left De Haan incognito, heading for England where he stayed for a while. On October 17, 1933, he left for good to the United States.
