On the urban cemetery in the center of Veurne, there is a French mass grave. Around 80 French soldiers are buried here. In this cemetery, you will also find a French honor section with about 150 graves. Among the French crosses, there are also 8 Arabic tombstones. Here you can also find the grave of Karel Cogge. He played a crucial role in the flooding of the Yser Plain in 1914.
