The site along the Heulebeek in Kuurne, with an area of about 2 ha, is a remnant of moist valley soils that have been used as meadow and hay land since time immemorial. A 700 m long hiking trail runs through the area. Especially the sedge field and the surroundings of the two pools have great biological value. The management is aimed, among other things, at preserving some open spaces in the forest in order to maintain the vegetation of the former moist hay meadows (dotter flower, pentecostal flower, real cuckoo flower, etc.).
The domain also serves as a flood zone for the Heulebeek, which can make it difficult to access periodically in winter.
There are entrances in the Veldm. Montgomerystraat, Beeklaan and Merelhoek.
