Most of those who cycle past the railway viaduct of Kwatrecht won't notice it. But you are cycling right next to a relic from WWI. The bunker D22 in Kwatrecht is embedded in the railway bridge that you can see from the Brusselsesteenweg. Only the bricked-up firing slit and doorway still bear witness to its former existence. The bunker is part of the bunker belt to the south of Ghent.
