In the castle resided a vassal of the lordship of Heers. Since 1396 it belonged to the Van Hinnisdael family, from 1604, through marriage, to Heusch van Zangereye, in the fourth quarter of the 17th century it came to De Moffart and in the first quarter of the 18th century to the De Brouckmans family.
The oldest parts of the current complex were built in the 17th century in Maasland Renaissance style. Only the farm and the southeastern corner tower have been preserved. The rest was remodeled in the classicist style in the 4th quarter of the 18th century. It is a U-shaped structure, grouped around a forecourt that is enclosed by a fence. Next to the castle, there is a mid-19th century caretaker's house and a coach house.
