The museum is located in the oldest house of Deerlijk, built by notary Johannes Devos in 1790, which is now protected and restored. This is the birthplace of the poet René De Clercq. More than 160 composers used his texts to create beautiful songs. René De Clercq is our framework to illustrate a significant part of the history of Flemish emancipation. There are also two educational packages.
