The castle of Wakken was a palace surrounded by parks, where grand feasts and receptions took place. Anthony I, the second son of Philip the Good, and of one of his mistresses, Jeanne de Presle de Lizy, chose the castle of Wakken as his residence in 1480. The castle is privately owned.
