This green zone of about five hectares is located between the sports hall of the same name, the Mandel, the Meulebeeksesteenweg and the Gaverbeek. According to a folk tale, Calle met den haak used to live here. That spirit appeared in the wells of the houses in the neighborhood and lured passers-by with delicacies to the railing of the bridge and then dragged them into the water. Now it's a lot more pleasant. Together with the province, the municipal council transformed the five-hectare area into a nature reserve. Cycling and walking paths with benches were laid out in the park and local trees were planted.
