Between the marina and the North Sea lies the harbor channel over a distance of approximately 2 kilometers. In Nieuwpoort-Bad, one can cross this harbor channel thanks to a ferry service that operates here daily. On the right bank lies the nature reserve "De IJzermonding," which is adjacent to the dunes and the former naval base of Lombardsijde. Along the harbor channel, a bike and walking promenade has been constructed, creating a perfect connection between the historic center and the quay on one side, and the seaside resort on the other.
