Sint-Godelievemuseum

This museum is located on the grounds of the Ten Putte Abbey. It was founded in 1987 and completely renovated in 2008. In the museum, you can learn in an attractive way more about Saint Godelieve, the devotion to the Gistel saint, and the tumultuous history of the Ten Putte Abbey. Highlights include the tombstone of abbess Godelieve Payers from 1553 (rediscovered at an antique dealer in Paris) and the Godelieve triptych, a triptych from the 16th century. Remarkable is also the reproduction of the painting that James Ensor made about the Saint Godelieve procession.
