This park (commonly known as Keunepark) was established in 1977. It serves as a green buffer between the harbor channel and the buildings along Albert I Avenue, which runs parallel to the harbor channel. In 2000, the park was renamed "Prins Mauritspark" in commemoration of the Battle of Nieuwpoort in 1600.
