No. 102. Farm, commonly known as "the Blue Tower," named after the slate roof of the house and the tower. Originally a moated farm located by the Kromme Beek. The oldest mention dates back to 1546 in the orphan books. Indicated on the Ferraris map (1770-1778) and on the Vander Maelen map (ca. 1850) with roughly the same layout. Reconstruction on the initiative of E. Apers and H. Buytaert from 1921, in 1925 the construction of a chicory barn; in 1933 construction of a barn at the initiative of contractor C. Vermandere. Referring to regional farm architecture cf.: layout: low components in a U-shape around a gravelled and grazed yard; to the north accessible via a gravelled yard drive with a wrought-iron access gate between brick pillars - the west pillar equipped with a niche crowned with a cross -; paved path; dwelling house, to the east stable; to the west, barn with a covered walkway (Fig. VI). planting: vegetable garden to the northeast. materials: dark red brick, dwelling house whitewashed above a picked plinth, tiled roofing, including gable roof and shed roofs of black mechanical tiles at the farmhouse; overhanging gable roofs of mechanical tiles at the stable and covered walkway; tiles at the barn. regional building elements: dormer window with loading door at the dwelling house and stable; bell tower with a bell on the dwelling house. layout: farmhouse (yard facade) with six + an alcove room to the left with a right-adjacent utility building; stable wing; cross barn with stable and carriage house section (463, 464).
