On the corner across the street is the Deweers chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was built in 1948 and replaces another chapel that used to stand about 100 meters further east, at the corner of Ieperse and Vlietputstraat. It was destroyed during World War I. Under the statue of Our Lady, there is an image of the fourteenth station of the Stations of the Cross. This statue, made of baked clay, was produced by the Dumon workshop in Bruges at that time.
