Peat experience point Mikvaart
At the intersection of Kraaienberg and Kievitstraat is a very nice place to relax.
It is decorated according to the theme of "TURF". You will find beautiful wood sculptures of a peat cutter, a peat carrier and a peat boat. In addition to a beautiful poem by Geert De Coockere, you will also find an information board about how peat was transported.
This project was the result of a collaboration between Regionaal Landschap der Voorkempen, the municipality of Essen and VVV De Tasberg.
For cyclists and walkers, it has become a pleasant resting place with benches to enjoy all this.
