Free-standing Gothic church ascending to circa 1525-1529, largely rebuilt in neo-Gothic style after the fire of 1841; located on a slight elevation in the axis of Torenstraat and Dreef; preserved, walled in 1860 on the north side, which was extended and hedged in a northeasterly direction circa 1956. The surroundings of the Sint-Michielskerk still contain clear elements of an old village center: the double-walled plot with rectory and former farm, respectively on the site of the former upper and lower court of the lords of Weelde, the lime drive between church and former castle, the stone mill and the low surrounding buildings.
