Saint Peter's Chapel in Basel (Kemphoekstraat) was built in 1902 after the previous chapel on the corner of Kemphoekstraat and Oude Kruibekestraat was demolished because a tram line had to be built on that site. The chapel, built in Steendorp brick, is a remnant of the St. Peter's Procession (parish patron Basel). It was held annually from 1587 to 1617, but due to the entry into force of the Blessed Sacrament procession, the procession was no longer made. Every year a Eucharist is still held in and around the chapel. In World War II, a flying V2 bomb fell next to the chapel, but the bomb did not explode. This was attributed to the help of St. Peter.
