Water pump

Monumental arm pump on sandstone pedestal, profiled bluestone hull and crown with ornamental vase, trimmed with a wrought iron fence; iron handle; circa 1710.

The water pump consists of three sections. At the bottom, a white stone or sandstone (Ledic sand-lime brick) base with circular cross-section (diameter 2 metres). The plinth has six stacked moults, the top one of which is chamfered and runs towards the column. The pedestal has a total height of 78 centimeters. On the east side there is a small rectangular extension of sandstone on which stands a wooden box with brass crane and copper tent roof. Underneath the crane is a bluestone beam with a chamfered top.

The articulation above is a profiled shaft of 2.58 meters high, constructed of bluestone and sandstone, closed by an entablature consisting of an astragal with a quarter-circular transition to the abacus with circular cross-section. On top of this is a hexagonal bluestone shape on which a - probably later applied - lead flashing has been placed to prevent water infiltration. The arm pump is attached to the east side of the shaft. On the west side, two wall anchors are visible and a commemorative plaque with the inscription: "Armpomp +- 1710" is also attached.

The upper section or crown consists of a 1.51-metre-high ornamental vase with a base on a base in bluestone. A wrought iron fence was placed around the crown.
