Description
So-called "'t Verburnt Goed", around 1600 known under the name "Goed ter Poorte" (see heerlijkheid "Ter Poorten" Izegem ?), the current name already appears on the Ferraris map (1770-1778). Historic farmhouse at the back indicated on the last mentioned map and the P.C. Popp map (circa 1850), as a walled site with a semi-closed arrangement; The ramparts were preserved to the north.
Enclosed site, to the north by the Kortrijk-Bruges railway line, to the west and east by the advancing habitation and industry. Low, partly contiguous components arranged in an L-shape around a partly cobbled yard with access to the south via a lane planted with young oaks. The meadows on the street are hedged with a hawthorn hedge. Brick construction under slightly curved gable roofs (mechanical and Flemish tiles),
To the north, farmhouse from 1944 (ridge parallel to the street) on the site of the old house destroyed during the bombing of 1940, still in line with the interwar architecture. Typical parement of yellow decorative brick and right risalite rising in gable; Round-arched door between wide straight. windows, accentuated by grey-painted concrete portico with saint's niche and climbing skylight. Renewed woodwork.
To the left adjacent to the farmhouse, 17th- (?) or 18th-century cross barn with dates "1944" and "1640" indicated in the renewed left side wall by means of brick heads - the latter date presumably taken from the façade destroyed by the aforementioned bombing - and right side wall finished with braiding. In the long yard façade, a basket-arched gate, a right-hand cellar gate and light slots; rhythmic buttresses. In front of the barn, lean-to on brick pillars under adjoining pent roof. Preserved old trusses of five bays, partly supported by corbels. To the west, 18th-century stables of eight bays + three barn bays on the left from the first quarter of the 20th century (ridge perpendicular to barn and farmhouse), wooden loading windows in gable. To the right, cowshed vaulted by means of wide trough vaults of brick on heavy angled beams. Preserved bluestone slits. To the southeast, 18th-century wagon house (ridge parallel to farmhouse), roof overhang on heavy wooden modillons; side walls finished with braiding.
