Description
Manpadstraat no. 9. The "Steenbakkershoeve", accessible via a driveway on the west side of the street, situated between the intersection with the Hulstemolensestraat and the Rozebeeksestraat, consisting of early 20th-century country buildings and a house probably with an older core.
History.
Minimally ascending to the first half of the 17th century, cf. view on map tithe book St. Martin's Abbey Tournai (ca. 1645). The Tollenaers interest book (1732) shows two volumes built at right angles to each other, accessible via a long driveway. Also depicted on the tithe book of the lordship of Schardauwe from 1724. No clear representation on Ferraris map (1770-1778). The farm was owned by the Vandeputte family for most of the 19th century. The situation as shown on the primitive land register plan (ca. 1830) shows the house and a long stretched country building placed at right angles to each other, respectively to the north and west of the plot. To the north of the house and on the east side of the plot are three small outbuildings. On March 15, 1827, farmer Guillielmus Vandeputte was granted the patent to establish a brick kiln. The brickyard was located near the farm and supplied stones for the construction of the new sacristy at the Lendeleedse Sint-Blasiuskerk in 1829. In 1862 the brickyard was expanded. The expansion of the farm, registered in 1890, but according to land registry 30 years earlier, probably relates to this. The three smallest volumes were increased. The farm was extensively renovated in the first decades of the 20th century with a new stable and barn from 1909 and 1911 respectively. The house was renovated in 1925.
Description.
Long driveway, bordered on the south side by a low hedge and a row of pollard trees. Access perpendicular to the driveway, via a long iron fence (on brick wall) that closes the entire width of the yard. Detached farm buildings in U-shaped arrangement around a yard in loose pavement with some lawns.
To the north of the yard a single-storey house of eight bays under gable roof (black glazed mechanical tiles, ridge gr.m. perpendicular to the street). Ornamental cementation according to year inscription applied in 1925. Arched wall openings in which preserved T-windows, doors under skylight.
Two tall brick country buildings planted perpendicular to the house, under a gable roof in mechanical tiles. Barn, west, and east stable, both with loading door under round-arched skylight (fan-shaped rod division) with drip molding and a stepped brick arch frieze in the side facades, south side facades with year stone "1909" (stable) and "1911" (barn). Longitudinal facades delineated by several tooth moldings. Stable previously with arched wall openings, later adapted with the input of new stable windows (including under concrete slate), in front of the brick pavement. The barn contains several gates, two sliding gates and two gates under metal lintel.
The brick volumes under gable roof in corrugated iron located to the north and west of the house, go back to the former brickyard. The northeastern volume includes a high chimney, the westernmost a raised ridge with ventilation street.
