Maasbempder Greend is a nature reserve east of Eisden and Vucht, belonging to the Maasvallei River Park. The area consists of a large gravel lake that is located in the floodplain east of the Meuse. The banks of this lake were transformed into a varied nature reserve. The area is grazed by large grazers (Galloway cattle and royal horses). In 2010, NV De Scheepvaart built a side channel near Mazenhoven. When water levels are high, Meuse water flows through to the pond.
