Cultural Centre "De Schakel" with theatre, city library, exhibition space, built to a design by the Bruges architect Eugeen Vanassche in 1971-1973, making it one of the first cultural centres in Flanders. Officially opened on Saturday 16 September 1972 by Prof. Dr. Frans Van Mechelen, then Minister of Dutch Culture.
