The impressive Loriers brewery with accompanying factory chimney in the Stoopkensstraat in Hoegaarden dates from 1832 and is a fine example of industrial architecture from the middle of the last century. This is where the famous Hougaerdse Das beer was born, which has been brewed again since 1996 according to the original recipe from 1931.
