This dike connects De Klinge with Kieldrecht and is a direct result of the end of the Eighty Years' War. In 1673 this is the border between the Spanish Netherlands and the now independent Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. The Spaniards don't trust the business. They build the dike as protection against the underwater settlement of their areas. Today, the Koningsdijk is above all a beautiful cycle path.
