Bart Peeters about "de Dreef" of Boechout": "This is where I put the finishing touches to 'Heist Aan Zee'. That used to be an English song. Like a mother nature's daughter/and a mother nature's son. We we could be as water/We could be as one. Sounds good. But how could I translate that into Dutch without it being full of clichés? The solution lay in a language game: And the seagulls mauled stately/the waves rippled to the beach. Of course, the verb to seagull didn't exist, but while walking I noticed that it just made sense, and said everything that needed to be said. After a run like that, I always come home with a bag full of ideas. Some are useful, others worthless. Fortunately, 'Heist Aan Zee' belonged to the first category."
