Beddermolen with mill domain
The story of the Beddermolen goes back to 1683, when a wooden windmill was built by the abbey of Tongerlo. In the vicinity of the mill, a mill house with stable, barn and bakehouse was built in the 18th century. This ensemble of buildings and windmill is still intact today and forms an almost unique example of a typical Kempen mill domain. The original mill was destroyed by lightning in 1963, but rebuilt in 1981, unfortunately without any interior.
The municipality and Kempens Landschap changed that after the purchase. The mill was restored in 2016-17. Since then, it has been open to the public every first and third Sunday of the month. The buildings on the site were also restored in 2019-2020: the bakehouse, the mill house and the stable and barn were completely renovated. Workshops will soon be organized in the bakehouse.
Original overnight stays can be done in the mill house, which was furnished as a holiday home for max. 10 people.
You can also rent the stable and / or the barn to organize activities or private parties!
More information about the rental can be found on www.beddermolen.be
