The Daknamse Meersen is a nature reserve in the east Flemish municipality of Lokeren Daknam.Around 1970 the area was threatened by subdivision. Between 1974 and 1978, several illegal constructions were erected. Some of these plans were stopped or reversed and in 1990 the Daknambroek was classified as a protected nature reserve. Of this 100 ha area, 23 ha is managed by Natuurpunt. Work was done to restore the nutrient-poor biotopes that occur on the peat and lime marsh soils.
