From the hamlet of Berg, an initially paved road leads southwards. Beyond the last buildings, the road takes on an unpaved character and winds between meadows with hawthorn hedges and rows of pollard willows. The dirt road continues up the plateau as a slightly incised hollow road between embankments with ash coppice and continues along the forest edge of the Alsbos. This partly hollow road follows a dry depression or so-called 'delle' on the edge of the plateau of the Alsbos and forms the historic connection between the farm hamlet of Berg and the 'Bois Communal d'Alst'.
