Thus named after the star-shaped layout of oak and beech avenues leading to the castle; located amidst an extensive forest with deciduous trees, spruces, a pond, and surrounding agricultural land, bounded by the Nieuwmoersesteenweg. The reclamation and development of the estate date back to 1858-67 and later: Louis Laurent Delehaye purchased 425 hectares of wasteland during this period, on which he experimented with model agricultural exploitation for thirty years. His son had a small castle built in 1877 that was presumably demolished afterwards. The current castle dates from 1898 and was enlarged around 1906.
