Description

Traditional gatehouse, with monumental and richly carved sandstone baroque gate on the Begijnenstraat: basket arch flanked by two belt columns on neuten; ornate entablature with inscription "BESLOTEN HOF/ COMT IN MYNEN HOF/ MYN SUSTER BRVIT/ 1671" crowned with a niche decorated with a shell motif, (baroque statue of Our Lady) set between contoured claw pieces, festoons, putti and a strongly profiled water moulding; beautiful, wooden broker in the same exuberant Rubensian style. On the court side, iron sandstone basket-arched arcade and small baroque niche with the patron saint.
