Supposedly "Old House," at the corner with Sint-Laureinsesteenweg. Former home of the Standaert family, next to their factory for chemical fertilizers and superphosphate. Désiré and Adolphe Standaert were also the promoters for establishing the independent parish of Balgerhoeke and the construction of a new parish church. The church, consecrated in 1906, was built on land from and with the support of the Standaert family. The house was destroyed during World War I and World War II and was rebuilt in 1941 according to the design of architect E.F. Callebaut, see memorial stone in the facade with the inscription: "Old House/ destroyed October 1918 + May 1940/ restored November 1919 + November 1941/ on June 10, 1941 was/ laid by Mrs. Margareta Standaert/ the first stone/ architect E.F. Callebaut."
