Semi-closed farmhouse Keppens Hof

Semi-closed brick farmhouse known as "Keppens Hof", named after the family that has operated the farm for generations. Located behind an orchard near the corner of Triepstraat; the long access road shortened by the construction of the national road Gent - Geraardsbergen. Paved spacious rectangular courtyard. To the north, a farmhouse of seven bays with adjacent extended horse stables to the west, under a continuous gable roof (formerly reportedly thatched, later concrete tiles, now artificial slates); presumably a remodeled farmhouse from the first half of the 19th century with an older core; still somewhat modified, also indoors in the second quarter of the 20th century and the second half of the 20th century. The estate facade is defined by a wide stepped roof cornice; rectangular front door and cellar entrance framed in flat bluestone casing. Well in the vaulted house cellar. Composite beam layer in the central room. Attic framework with maker's marks (attic stairs relocated). Paved horse stable. To the west, large transverse barn with stables, raised and adapted after a fire in 1946. Other farm buildings forming an L-shape, dating at the earliest from the second half of the 19th century, include: to the east, low stables with an incorporated hearth of a bake oven; at the southeast corner, a small longitudinal barn with a two-part potato cellar; to the south, a cart shed.
